Media Scoring

Forest World

These two cues share a common ostinato motif, representing the living pulse of the forest world.

The exploration theme unfolds with light textures and spacious harmony, creating a sense of wonder and gentle movement.

In contrast, the boss variation transforms the same ostinato through intensified orchestration, rhythmic drive, and harmonic tension, shifting the atmosphere from dreamlike to urgent while preserving thematic continuity.

The goal was to maintain a unified musical identity across contrasting gameplay states.

Concert Works

Drunnnk?

This string quartet traces the gradual progression of intoxication, moving from a light buzz to full inebriation.

The piece begins with subtle glissandos between close intervals, suggesting tentative imbalance and gentle swaying. As it unfolds, the glissandos widen and lengthen, destabilizing pitch and gesture to mirror the increasing loss of control.

At its most disoriented state, the quartet embraces a dense, glissando-rich texture, blurring harmonic clarity into a woozy, unstable soundscape.

The work concludes with a stretto that culminates in a sudden snap pizzicato in the cello which is an abrupt, almost humorous collapse that marks the inevitable end of the journey.

Indie Game Music Contest

I composed adaptive music for Tiny Garden based on the project brief, aiming to create a relaxed, immersive flow-state experience.

The score centers around a shared main motif between menu and gameplay to maintain thematic coherence. Written primarily in D major with modal color shifts, the music blends warmth and subtle harmonic variation to support peaceful gardening gameplay.

The adaptive structure evolves naturally with player progression, introducing additional layers and harmonic changes to celebrate growth without disrupting the overall flow. The piece was designed for middleware implementation (e.g., Wwise), allowing sections to be randomized to maintain freshness over extended play.

Yuki

Yuki evokes the calm stillness of a snow covered village.

Built on flowing textures and soft harmonic movement, the piece emphasizes atmosphere over momentum, allowing the world to feel suspended in quiet winter air.

The light instrumentation supports exploration without disrupting the sense of tranquility.

Puppy Dance

Puppy Dance is a lively string quartet inspired by my dog, Angela, capturing her playful and mischievous spirit.

Loosely modeled on a scherzo and trio form, the outer sections burst with rhythmic drive and sudden shifts of gesture, reflecting her quick movements and unpredictable energy. Pizzicato and col legno battuto textures highlight her light-footed darting and playful taps.

In contrast, the trio-like middle section offers a warmer, more affectionate character, creating a brief moment of calm before the return of her exuberant antics.

Moonlit Whimsy

Moonlit Whimsy was originally conceived for a smaller ensemble before gradually expanding into a full symphonic work. The version presented here reflects the earlier chamber-scale rendering, which preserves the core atmosphere and thematic material of the larger orchestral conception.

The harmony of the piece drifts in and out of focus. While the tonal center remains anchored around G, its mode constantly shifts, sometimes major , sometimes minor , and at times modal which create a sense of gentle instability . I wanted the music to feel both calm and unreal, a quiet dance between stability and illusion, where tonality itself seems to breathe and move with the light.
